I stumbled into Chaplins cold and hungry, and was most pleasantly surprised. This isn't fancy new pub food - it's just good food honestly presented at a decent price. The menu has cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, and more elaborate hot dinners. I ordered a hot cheese sandwich, which came with a choice of a salad, or cole slaw and tortilla chips, which is what I opted for. The sandwich was delicious, topped with red onions (tomatoes were also available), not at all greasy, and the cheese was perfectly melted and tasty. The cole slaw was dripping in creamy sauce, but not overpowered by it. The tortilla chips were definitely the weakest link, but the crispiness did make a nice contrast with the soft sandwich.
This is a tiny (perhaps 12 tables), unpretentious place, but I give it highest marks for doing what it sets out to do extremely well, at a pleasantly surprising price. -

I stumbled upon this friendly looking place looking for some lunch. The menu outside displayed some reasonably priced dishes. I walked in and got asked what I was doing here by one of the waitresses. I found this quite unfriendly. As I sat down a menu was placed on my table and 20 seconds later a waitress asked me for my order.
I got a cheeseburger with salad and fries. The food came in pretty fast and was excellent. It tasted very nice and the portions were great.
However I found that service was below what I would expect from such a place. The waitresses only seemed to care about the apparent regulars in the place and didn't really care about one time visitors. The place also advertised free Wi-Fi inside, but the waitresses didn't actually know how to connect to it. -

I heard many great things about this place and was told they serve 'the best bacon sandwiches in Dover' but I'd have to say this is one of my last favourite places in town.
A man took my order, then moments later a woman literally dumped a menu on the table in front of me and walked away without saying a word. Then the man couldn't understand why I had a menu again, as if it my fault.
When the bacon sandwich arrived, it was the most basic bacon sandwich you could imagine. Just two slices of bread with some not very nicely cooked bacon between.
Bland, uninspiring food and not very good service. -

I wanted to have breakfast in Dover, and it was the only opened place which I found. I was not disappointed ! The breakfast was in accordance with what I waited and prepared well. A nice address!

Well I have to say this little gem does almost anything you want even if you fancy something thats not on the menu.
The menu though i'm sure will please. The prices are very reasonable, service is really quick and when I last had a meal here it was a really warm day and managed to get one of the tables outside. Fantastic for a bite to eat during lunch break.
